The China-UK Global Issues Dialogue Centre
Based at Jesus College Cambridge, the Centre is committed to promoting active dialogue between academics, policy makers and business people around major issues we face in the world today and tomorrow, and in which China has an increasingly important interest.
These include the opportunities and impacts associated with new technologies, global governance, international development, health and welfare ecosystems, and changing societal norms and expectations.
An international partnership
Jesus College works with a range of international partners to support cutting edge research and innovation in its state-of-the-art West Court development through a series of initiatives including the Intellectual Forum, the China-UK Global Issues Dialogue Centre, and many other academic conferences and events.
Jesus College was established between 1496 and 1516 on the site of the twelfth-century Benedictine nunnery of St Mary and St Radegund, whose buildings were adapted to house it on 24 acres of fields and gardens.
Established in 1993, the International Cooperation Center (ICC) is a subsidiary unit of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China.
It is a a new-type think tank engaged in a diverse activities including policy research, international cooperation, planning and consulting, foreign services and high-end training. Currently, ICC is proactively initiating the 'second-round transformation' to further develop its influence over domestic policies and international visibility.
Tsinghua University is a major research university situated in northwest Beijing on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty.
Established in 1911, its faculty greatly valued the interaction between Chinese and Western cultures, the sciences and humanities, the ancient and modern.
